Thinking about that one summer...Running along on an endless road
under the summer sky's hues of red
reminds me of the few meaningful words
to me that one summer you said:
"I'm so proud of you...Can you believe..."
Hearing you say just a few simple words
with such kindness and sincerity
places a lightness upon my heart
and encourages me to run
just a little farther
just a little faster
and makes me feel
a whole lot happier
It's amazing how a few simple words
have impacted my life forever
may you continue to inspire others
today and ever after
And just so you know
because you probably don't:
I would run across the world for you
just to hear you say those words again
words coming from a soul that true
and relive the summer that changed me
